Pick up program changes mid-session with Refresh programs

A BCBA can add, rename or change the status of a client’s programs while you are
in the middle of collecting data on that client — for example during a parallel
supervision session. Refresh programs pulls those changes onto your board
without reloading the page, so you keep everything you have already done.

When to use it

Use it when you have been told a program was added or changed since you started
recording, or when a target you expect to see is not on the board. You do not
need it in a normal session: if nothing about the client’s programs changed, a
refresh has nothing to bring in.

Refresh the board

  1. In the session recording screen, go to the data collection tabs
    (Behaviors, Skills, and so on).

  2. Select the ⋯ button at the right of the tab row (More board actions).

  3. Select Refresh programs.

  4. Wait for Programs updated to appear.

Newly added programs open automatically so they look like the rest of the board.
Programs you had collapsed stay collapsed.

What is kept

Refreshing does not restart your session. All of the following survive:

  • Every measurement you have already collected, including anything still saving.

  • Running duration timers.

  • Which programs you have expanded or collapsed, and your scroll position.

  • Your audio recording, which keeps running throughout.

The refresh only ever adds. It cannot overwrite or remove data you have
collected, so it is always safe to press.

If something does not appear

A refresh brings in everything the server has, but the board only shows
targets that pass your current filters. If a program you expect is still
missing, check:

  • The tab. Behavior programs appear under Behaviors, skill programs
    under Skills.

  • The Target Status filter. By default the board shows active and
    active-baseline targets only. A target left in another status will not
    display.

  • That the change was saved. The BCBA’s edit has to be saved on their side
    before a refresh can find it.

Why the option is unavailable

Refresh programs is greyed out when:

  • A refresh is already running — the icon spins until it finishes.

  • Your device is offline. Reconnect and try again.

  • The session is still loading its data collection board. Wait for the board to
    finish loading.

If you see Could not refresh programs. Check your connection and try again.,
nothing on your board changed. Check your connection and select it again.
