There are 3 required tax items you’ll need in order to get setup for payroll.

How to register:
Withholding Tax ID Number
New businesses can register online. Successful registration will result in immediate generation of your Withholding Tax ID Number.
Unemployment Insurance Account Number
New businesses can register online. Successful registration will result in immediate generation of your Unemployment Insurance Account Number.
How to locate these numbers if you’re already registered:
Existing businesses will be able to find their Withholding Account ID online or on any notice from the Department of Revenue.
You will find your Unemployment Insurance Account Number and Tax Rate on the Tax Rate Notice mailed by the Unemployment Insurance MN.

Third-Party Access (TPA)
Linking us as your third-party administrator will ensure we are able to complete the quarterly filings and amendments (if applicable) in a timely manner.
Steps to grant TPA to MN Unemployment Account
Log in to your account at www.uimn.org.
On My Home Page, click Account Maintenance.
Click Agent Authorization.
Click New to start the authorization process.
On the Assign Agent page, enter [ENTER AGENT ID], and then click Next.
Review the information on the Agent Details page.
Enter today's date in the Beginning Start Date field.
Leave the Effective End Date field (the date cannot be earlier than the current date) blank.
In the Available Roles section, select the user roles for the agent.
Account Maintenance Update and Submit
Tax Payment Update and Submit
Wage Detail Update and Submit
Click Save.
Click Assign Employer Reporting Units for the role.
Select the Employer Reporting Units:
Assign All Employer Reporting Units: The agent has access to all of your current and future reporting units.
Click Add.
Click Save.
Steps to grant TPA to MN Withholding Account
Log into the MN e-Services website or register as a new user.
From the homepage, select Manage my profile.
Select Set up access with another business.
Select Approve pending 3rd Party Access request to your account(s).
Using the Access Allowed drop-down menu, choose Yes.
